Bryan United Pentecostal Church has various ministries that will be a tremendous blessing to you and your family. At the heart of each ministry is a sincere focus upon presenting relevant resources and opportunities for people to grow in their walk with God, wherever they are in that lofty pursuit.
Home Bible Studies
Home Bible studies are a valuable resource for people in their walk with God. From somebody who is just beginning to show an interest in God and the Bible, to the seasoned believer who seeks a deeper understanding of the Scripture, Home Bible Studies have served as an invaluable tool in equipping people with the knowledge to more fully serve the Lord.
The duration and depth of Home Bible studies range from either an introductory one hour lesson to a survey of the Old and New Testaments that lasts several weeks. If you are interested in a Bible study, please contact the church to set up a time. The time, place, and lesson are flexible, and will serve as a priceless experience in your life.
Some of the Bible studies that have been taught by our church include: Search for Truth (#2), Exploring God’s Word, Into His Marvelous Light, A Place Prepared for You, and Rightly Dividing the Word.
Prayer
Prayer is a vital spiritual discipline that each Christian believer needs in order to stay in close communication with our Lord. It is the goal of each New Testament believer to spend time with the Lord, daily. Not only is prayer a part of the Christian’s personal walk with God, it is also a means for us to minister to the community.
The fact is that prayer works. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much (James 5:16, KJV). If you are sick, the prayer of faith saves the sick. If you are discouraged, prayer can uplift your spirits. If you have a special need for God to intervene in your life, please contact us and allow us an opportunity to pray with you over it. We simply believe that God answers prayer!
Sunday School
Sunday school is a vital part of a believer’s Christian education — coming to a fuller knowledge of Jesus Christ and how to be a disciple of His. Sunday morning services begin with forty-five minutes to an hour of solid Bible teaching. The adults meet in the sanctuary, while children have a fun and exciting time in their classes.
Children Sunday school classes are broken down by grade/age-group. These classes are taught with exciting and engaging quarterly themes, character role play, and games and prizes. If you have children in any of the following age groups, they will be excited to be a part of our safe, caring, and engaging Sunday school classes.
Children Sunday School Classes
- Toddlers (ages 1–3)
- Kindergarten/Beginner (ages 4–6)
- Primary (ages 7–9)
- Pre-Teen (ages 10–14)
Youth Ministry
Youth ministry is such a vital part of a church, as well as a vital tool to help young people navigate one of the most difficult times of their lives. Fortunately, our church has a group of young people who love God and are committed to prayer and a life of service to God.
Our youth group meets many Fridays throughout the year. Several events that our youth group participate in include relevant youth services, special dinners, games nights, and out-of-town trips such as Heritage Youth Conference (Colorado Springs, CO) and Winter Heritage (Hurst, TX). Keep your eye on the events calendar for specific times and dates for youth ministry activities and services.
Music Ministry
Worship and praise invite God’s presence into our church services — and our music ministry provides the basis and instrument upon which our praises arise. Lead by Sister Doretha Jones, music ministry consists of several levels of involvement: instrumentalists, praise singers, youth ensemble, adult choir, and children’s choir. These groups practice at various times throughout the week and before each service during which they sing.
Another value part of our Music Ministry are group piano lessons. Each Wednesday, various groups meet in the church music room from early afternoon until 7:00 p.m.. Groups are based upon age and experience. See Sister Jones for more information.
