Pastor & Sister Jones
Pastor and Sister Brian Jones were elected as pastor of Bryan United Pentecostal Church on September 8, 2005. Since that time, they have diligently worked to bring a revival atmosphere in the church by cultivating a climate of unity, prayer, and evangelism. It is their sincere desire to see God’s will done in this local church, as well as to make a significant spiritual impact in the entire Bryan and College Station communities.
Ministerial Background
Prior to accepting the pastorate of Bryan UPC, the Jones’ have devoted their entire lives to ministry and the work of God. Pastor Jones was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he first entered the ministry by serving in his local church under Elder Gary Howard. From there, Pastor Jones stepped out in faith as a full-time evangelist, and has preached in churches all across the United States, as well as overseas, and has successfully evangelized for extended periods of time throughout his ministry.
Pastor Jones has also served in various pastoral capacities, including Youth/Associate Pastor at Revival Center UPC in Modesto, California, as Pastor of Christian Growth Center in Pueblo, Colorado, and as Assistant Pastor at First Pentecostal Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We are blessed to have a pastor with his experience, consecration, and commitment to purely Apostolic revival.
Sister Doretha Jones was raised in a pastor’s home, Pastor and Sister J. J. Bourn, and though she traveled extensively with her father’s evangelistic ministry, she spent most of her youth in Houston, Texas, where her father pastored Irvington Pentecostal Church. Sister Jones graduated from Jackson College of Ministries with a degree in Music, and her musical talents have been used extensively to lead congregations in Apostolic praise and worship and develop musicians nationwide. Bryan UPC is blessed to have her lead our music, as well as train and develop our local musicians.
The Jones Family
Pastor and Sister Jones were married on June 24, 1995, and have three beautiful children — Dillon, Bricen, and JoAnna. Their first son, Dillon, was born in Modesto in 1998. Just after turning 3 years old and while living in Colorado, the Jones’ tragically discovered that Dillon had cancer. After 22 months of extensive treatments and enduring the trial of their lives, the Lord took Dillon home on September 23, 2003. Since then, the Lord has blessed Pastor and Sister Jones with Bricen and JoAnna — two beautiful children who are “actively” involved at Bryan UPC. Though Dillon is absent in body, his influence and love is fondly felt through his parents’ ministry.
